10x Stronger Together

On October 7th the whole world changed, and the Jewish people are now faced with an new challenge that continues to grow – security forces risking their lives, families living on the borders, wounded people, evacuees, grieving families, business owners and basically the entire people of Israel needs a:
Strengthening of our Jewish national resilience.

What do the Ten Commandments have to do with resilience?

The Basic Ph model developed by Prof. Mooli Lahad and Dr. Ofra Ayalon presents six styles of natural coping mechanisms that people use to cope in times of crisis: Belief, Affect, Social, Imagination, Cognitive, and Physical.

When focusing on the “Belief” style, it was found that a person’s beliefs and values will help them survive periods of crisis and will shed light even on difficult times of suffering. “He who has a why to live for, can bear almost any how” (Friedrich Nietzsche).

The Ten Commandments is the belief system that has served as the source of strength, durability and stability of the Jewish people for 3,300 years.

The Jewish people are a resilient people. We are a nation that has survived countless extermination attempts, wars of existence and other upheavals throughout history. “In every generation they stand up against us and try to destroy us” – from Pharaoh to Haman and to Hitler, to Khamenei and Sinwar. What has always kept us going? Belief in the righteousness of our way, a deep connection to our identity and the mission of our people in the world.

In light of this method, we in the Aseret Movement have developed our Resilience Initiative:
